Following the success of the world’s first Outdoor Office BarCamp in 2024 in Sweden, the pioneers, and frontrunners of OutdoorOfficeDay are organizing the second international Outdoor Office BarCamp 2025 in Timișoara, Romania.
We warmly invite everyone interested in or experienced with the Outdoor Office working ways to participate in OutdoorOffice BarCamp 2025 (#oobc25). This edition is directly connected to the 18th International Symposium in Management (SIM 2025) and the Industry and Society 5.0 Hybrid Workshop.
On 23 October, within the framework of the Industry and Society 5.0 Hybrid Workshop, Charlotte Petersson Troije, PhD in Work Life Science and Lecturer in Leadership and Organization at the Department of Urban Studies, Malmö University (Sweden), and Outdoor Office pioneer, will deliver a special session:
“The Potential of Outdoor Office Work for Innovative and Sustainable Ways of Organizing.”
On 24 October, outdoor office pioneers together with Nature Desks (Amsterdam), My Business Camp (Frankfurt), and the ErgoWork Society will organize three thematic outdoor workshops open to the public, the business community, and local authorities:
- Banat Village Museum (10:00 – 11:30) – a session dedicated to rural outdoor office frameworks and infrastructure, where are invited county administration representatives;
- Timișoara Botanical Park (12:30 – 14:30) – a workshop focused on urban outdoor office infrastructure and proximity coworking networks where are invited the Municipality representatives;
- Iulius Garden (15:30 – 17:00) – the main green area linked to Outdoor Office Day Timișoara, dedicated to business organizations exploring outdoor office integration.
On 25 October, the third day, there will be a fusion event combining the traditional Outdoor Office Day of the SIM Conference, usually held in the Buziaș Vineyards, with the International Outdoor Office Pioneers Meeting. Charlotte Petersson Troije will facilitate an open dialogue between professors, researchers, and international pioneers, focusing on the role of outdoor environments in boosting creativity, innovation, and performance. The session will take place in the relaxing vineyard setting, enriched with local gastronomy and wines.
The formal Outdoor Office BarCamp 2025 will conclude on the afternoon of 25 October with a reflective “Walk & Talk” session under the historic Buziaș Imperial Colonnade, summarizing key insights and defining next steps.
Optionally, on Sunday, 26 October, participants are invited to join an inspiration tour to:
- Socolari Artists’ Community Village – a rural hub of creativity founded by artist Tasi Iosif, who has been actively involved in the Timișoara Outdoor Office Day since its inception in 2022.
- a short hike through Cheile Nerei National Reservation, ending at Băile Herculane; or
- return back to Timișoara.
